Plug and Play’s End Plastic Waste Program Selects Eight Startups For Its First Batch in Riyadh

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA, November 30, 2023 - Plug and Play has selected eight startups for its first batch of its End Plastic Waste Innovation Program in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in partnership with the Alliance to End Plastic Waste. Their location in Riyadh aims to propel the growth of these selected startups, enhancing their growth through mentorship, support, and fostering connections with potential POC’s and partners across the MENA-region. The program continues its mission to bring ground-breaking technology to the forefront, addressing industry needs and driving impact to end plastic waste.

To date, the End Plastic Waste Innovation Platform has championed over US$185 million in capital, funneling these investments into startups and initiating over 220 commercial pilots between startups and Alliance member companies.

The eight companies are as follows:

Terrax: Terrax transforms waste into sustainable products for construction, events and logistics.

Live Love Recycle: LiveLoveRecycle is a social enterprise on a mission to make recycling easier by digitizing the waste management sector

TileGreen: TileGreen is making green, highly performing, and economical green building materials from low value and unrecyclable plastic waste.

ReFuse: ReFuse has for mission to work with underserved communities enabling them to sort recyclables and get rewarded for it.

Bekia: Bekia is a waste management and recycling solution for individuals and businesses that makes recycling everyday waste financially rewarding while creating a positive impact on the planet.

RePlaste: Where Design Meets Sustainability.

Beaee: Beaee is a digital platform that provides closed-loop waste management solutions for residential and commercial sectors by linking waste producers, service providers and recyclers in one place.

Verofax: Verofax offers MarTech solutions for connecting brands directly to consumers and offering immersive experiences in store.

These selected companies will go through a three-month business development curriculum Riyadh with Plug and Play’s extensive partner network. The culmination of the program will take place at the Riyadh Expo in March 2024.
