Plug and Play Orlando Selects 14 Startups for Its Smart Cities Program

ORLANDO, FLORIDA, April 25, 2024 – Plug and Play Orlando has selected 14 startups for their inaugural batch. The startups will participate in a 12-week program, with their graduation and pitch presentation held at Expo, taking place on July 31.

Plug and Play, the global innovation platform, recently launched its new location in Orlando, Florida, dedicated to advancing smart cities. During the official launch event, partners and community leaders heard from startups with market-ready solutions, vying for a spot in the spring 2024 batch.

“We are thrilled to welcome this inaugural batch of startups to Orlando as we foster innovation in Smart Cities here in Central Florida,” said Allison Chandler, Program Manager of Plug and Play Orlando.

Chosen by founding members of the program – including the Orange County Government, Duke Energy, UCF, and Tavistock – the selected startups represent a range of innovations focused on areas such as mobility, sustainability, energy, construction and automation. These startups will participate in the program and will benefit from strategic collaborations with founding Smart Cities corporate members, as well as mentorship, corporate introductions, workshops, networking, events, and more.

The 14 startups selected for the program are:

  • Mighty Buildings delivers technology to develop progressive architecture at a low cost in a sustainable way and make modern housing affordable.
  • Dispel builds network-level moving target defenses. They are the industry standard in the US for secure remote access to control systems.
  • Infranergy is a Smart AI-powered software platform for energy optimization, harnessing and monetizing solar and storage assets for businesses.
  • Exodigo is a technology innovator combining the power of proprietary advances in 3D imaging, sensors and artificial intelligence.
  • FLUIX is enterprise AI software that saves critical infrastructure on energy costs, time, and resources.
  • Connected Wise is elevating transportation safety and connectivity with AI-driven innovation.
  • Capacitech Energy is enhancing battery and renewable energy infrastructure using our patented PowerLink energy storage products. We help companies building large wave, wind, and solar energy harvesting projects address power fluctuations, battery shortcomings, and space constraints.
  • Precision Periodic is next-generation mining, refining, and wastewater treatment, because the Earth deserves better.
  • Voxel is a site visibility solution that enhances existing security cameras with computer vision AI software to automatically identify safety hazards.
  • Sapient Industries solves facility energy data challenges to optimize energy, sustainability, and equipment health.
  • VANTIQ is a software development and deployment platform that enables companies to digitize their business.
  • NESTRE is a Neuro-Strength Company that provides mental and cognitive strength training and solutions.
  • Enline is a real-time predictive digital twin platform for transmission line assets.
  • HAAS Alert delivers real-time emergency alerts to drivers using C-V2X technologies.

The program, which will start in April 2024, is set to culminate with graduation and startup pitch presentations at Expo, taking place this summer in Orlando.
