Plug and Play Japan VP of Fintech and Insurtech, Chang Li, Appointed as Ambassador of The Organization of Global Financial City Tokyo

TOKYO, JAPAN, July 6, 2023 - Global innovation platform, Plug and Play Japan KK (Japan office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Representative: Phillip Vincent, Hereinafter "Plug and Play Japan") is delighted to announce that Chang Li, VP of Fintech and Insurtech, has been appointed as the ambassador of The Organization of Global Financial City Tokyo (HQ: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Chairman: Hiroshi Nakaso, Hereinafter "FinCity.Tokyo").

FinCity.Tokyo's mission is to boost the attractiveness of Tokyo’s financial ecosystem and raise its profile as a top-class global financial city. Chang Li, together with other ambassadors, Mr. David Semaya (Executive Chairman & Representative Director of Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Asset Management, Co., Ltd.), Mr. Jesper Koll (Senior Global Advisor at Japan Catalyst, inc.) and Mr. Laurent Depus (Director of the Board, SMBC Trust Bank), will try her best in promoting Tokyo’s financial digitalization and business opportunities in order to attract more companies to Tokyo.

Plug and Play Japan’s Fintech and Insurtech accelerator programs launched in 2017 and so far have worked with 133 (Fintech) and 134 (Insurtech) startups. With the appointment of Chang Li as the ambassador, Plug and Play Japan will continue to work on the vitalization of fintech and insurtech startup ecosystems among others.

About Chang Li 李 暢（VP, Fintech/Insurtech）

Born in Sichuan, China and moved to Japan for university. Chang Li joined a major life insurance company in 2012 and worked in asset management and cross-border M&A cases in Tokyo and New York.

During her MBA studies at the University of Hong Kong, she helped Silicon Valley Insurtech startups expand into Japan. She joined Plug and Play Japan in December 2018 and since then has been working to establish a solid startup-ecosystem of Fintech/Insurtech in Japan. Board member of Femtech Community Japan and Fintech Association of Japan.
