Plug and Play Japan Announces 15 Finalist Startups for "Global Preparation Course," Global Startup Acceleration Program in collaboration with JETRO
Demo Day will be held on February 14
TOKYO, Feb. 7, 2024 - Plug and Play Japan KK (Based in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan CEO: Philip Vincent, hereinafter “Plug and Play Japan”) selected 15 startups as finalists for Global Preparation Course in the Global Startup Acceleration Program (hereinafter “GSAP”), in collaboration with Japan External Trade Organization (Based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Chairman: Norihiko Ishiguro, hereinafter “JETRO”).
In 2021, Plug and Play Japan started the program in alignment with JETRO to support Japanese startups aiming to expand their business in a global market for a global preparation course. Over three years since 2021, Plug and Play Japan has supported 100 Japanese startups nationwide in their overseas expansion.
The global preparation course is structured with three phases: Preparation, Acceleration, and Extension Phase. At the end of each phase, startups are interviewed and screened to determine their participation in the next phase.
The 15 finalist startups will have opportunities to access Plug and Play’s network with domestic and international investors and corporate partners, as well as support to brush up their pitch in English. The top startup with the highest score evaluated on Demo Day will receive a ticket to attend the Silicon Valley Summit in June 2024.
Demo Day is scheduled to be held in Tokyo on February 14, 2024, to present the result of the acceleration program including their ambitions and business plans for expanding their business to overseas markets.
