As one of the largest integrated eucalyptus pulp and paper producers in Latin America., with operations in nearly 60 countries and a history dating back 94 years, Suzano is the world’s second largest producer of eucalyptus pulp, one of the ten largest producers of market pulp and the regional market leader in paper for domestic and commercial use. 

 Controlled by Suzano Holding, we operate five industrial units: Suzano, Rio Verde and Limeira in the state of São Paulo, Mucuri in Bahia, and Imperatriz in Maranhão, which together have a production capacity of 4.7 million tons, of which 3.4 million tons of market pulp and 1.3 million tons of paper. Suzano also has three sales offices in China, the United States and Switzerland, and two subsidiaries (Sun Paper in England and Stenfar in Argentina). Our forestry assets are distributed across eight states (São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Maranhão, Piauí, Tocantins and Pará), spread over more than 1 million hectares, including 522,000 hectares of planted area and 463,000 hectares of preservation areas. Suzano also operate in the biotechnology industry through FuturaGene, the first company in the world to obtain approval for the commercial use of genetically modified eucalyptus. Research in this new technology started in 2001 and, in 2015, its use was approved by Brazil’s National Biosafety Technical Commission (CTNBio). Productivity gains compared to conventional eucalyptus could be to 20%.
