Plug and Play Japan Announces 10 Finalist Startups for "Global Preparation Course," a Startup Acceleration Program in collaboration with JETRO
TOKYO, JAPAN, February 1, 2022 - Plug and Play Japan KK (Based in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan CEO: Philip Vincent, hereinafter “Plug and Play Japan”) selected 10 startups as finalists of Startup City Acceleration Program Global Preparation Course in alignment with Japan External Trade Organization (Based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Chairman: SASAKI Nobuhiko, hereinafter “JETRO”).
JETRO, together with the Cabinet Office and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), is developing the Startup City Acceleration Program, a program that assists startups nationwide in their overseas expansion.
The program is designed to collaborate with top overseas accelerators. Continuing from last year, Plug and Play Japan was commissioned to provide the "Global Preparation Course," which aims to give basic knowledge for global expansion and increase motivation for overseas market development and has worked with 50 startups.
The program is structured with three phases; Preparation phase (from September to late October), Acceleration phase (from early November to late January) and Extension phase (from late January to late February). The selected startups need to pass this step-by-step examination of each phase and the 10 startups which passed the Extension phase will gain an opportunity to pitch at the “Demo Day”.
Selected Startups passed the Extension Phase (In alphabetical order)
Apps and cloud services to realize DX at the forefront of infrastructure maintenance sites such as bridges, dams, and plants
Offering an autonomous transportation service for industrial sectors using self-driving technology
Provides ventilation mask that transforms to fit any face and to prevent skin injury
Provides new stand up rehabilitation devices and upright mobility devices for wheelchair users
Provides commercial robotics solutions using industrial drones, etc.
A business optimization tool for SME B2B2C companies, specializing in childcare and women’s activities, improving labor efficiency and end-user experience
Providing a global matching platform connecting snow resorts and skiers/snowboarders
Remote wireless power transmission technology delivers power when and where it is needed
NFT distributing specific company
Standardized UBiSS, a digital blood testing platform, for domestic and international deployment
