Plug and Play Insurtech Europe Announces 15 Startups Selected for Batch 10
MUNICH, Germany, April 2023 - Plug and Play Insurtech Europe proudly welcomes 15 startups to join their three-month innovation program, marking the beginning of their tenth batch. The startups were carefully sourced based on the focus topics of founding and anchor partners and were featured in Selection Week, where they were clustered into three main categories:
- General tech startups
- Property and casualty
- Life and health
The pitching startups represented diverse lines of business, stages, and geographies. After the pitches, esteemed companies from around the world were invited to vote on the top startups, with their votes determining which startups would move on to the next phase of the program. The ultimate goal of the program is to facilitate pilots and PoCs (Proof of Concepts) between the selected startups and the program partners, which include renowned companies such as RheinLand, Versicherungskammer Bayern, Irish Life, UnipolSai Assicurazioni, Vienna Insurance Group, and Aflac.
Plug and Play's unique offering focuses on business development for growth-stage startups and scaleups. As the world's largest innovation platform, Plug and Play provides mentorship, venture capital, and business development opportunities without requiring any equity or fees from startups. This means that founders are offered a rare and valuable business development opportunity for free.
This year, the program started with an in-person Selection Week, and will continue throughout the entire process with various activities and workshops. However, the highlight of the program, the Insurtech Europe Batch 10 EXPO, which showcases the work between the startups and partners, will be held in-person on June 27, 2023, in Barcelona, Spain.
