Plug and Play Expands Partnership with Novelis

December 18, 2022 - Plug and Play, a global innovation platform and prevalent early-stage investor, announced the expanding of its partnership with Novelis, a leading sustainable aluminum solutions provider and the world leader in aluminum rolling and recycling. Novelis, which is a supplier of low-carbon lightweight aluminum for commercial transportation and electric vehicles, will join Plug and Play Mobility's platforms in the UK and Detroit, in addition to an existing program in Stuttgart.

Plug and Play’s Mobility innovation platform consists of more than 90 leading brands throughout the mobility value chain, from parts and equipment manufacturers to vehicle designers and beyond. Partner organizations work as part of an ecosystem, alongside start-ups, academia, and investors to explore the best technologies and innovations that can be commercially deployed for autonomous transport, smart infrastructure, last-mile logistics, and other areas that will define the future of the automotive industry.

In the UK, Novelis joins a roster of mobility partners that includes founding partner Jaguar Land Rover, and anchor partners Advanced Propulsion Centre and Zenzic. Novelis will also become part of the Detroit platform, which includes partners Stellantis and BorgWarner.

The primary objective of the partnership is to support Novelis as it explores and pilots new technologies for carbon reduction, recycling, mobility solutions, industry 4.0 and electrification.
