Plug and Play Alberta Announces 10 Startups For The Location’s Inaugural Sustainability Program

CALGARY, CANADA, March 17, 2022 - Plug and Play Alberta has announced 10 startups selected for the first batch of its Sustainability program. This program aims to facilitate opportunities for pilots, proof of concepts, and new relationships between the selected batch startups and Plug and Play's global ecosystem. Members of the Advisory Board include EY, Canadian Natural Resources, Worley, Clean Resource Innovation Network (CRIN), and Peter’s & Co. Limited.

“We’re excited to welcome 10 of the most innovative startups in the sustainability space into our accelerator program,” said Lindsay Smylie, Director of Plug and Play Alberta. “Our unparalleled global reach allows us to bring the right startups, with the right solution to our Corporate Partners – which is something that no one else can do.”

The Alberta office officially launched in January of this year with their Sustainability Selection Day on February 24th. The startups, chosen by the Advisory Board, represent a variety of new sustainable clean technology innovations focused on renewable and alternative energy, biotechnology, water innovation, new materials, and energy optimization. Startups will begin the program on March 16th, which will run until the EXPO on May 31st.

CleanInnoGen Energy Solutions

CleanInnoGen decarbonizes heavy industry with on-site green hydrogen from waste heat.

SeeO2 Energy

SeeO2 converts GHG emissions into high value fuels and chemicals in a net negative carbon process.

OzoneBio

OzoneBio is a Canadian green tech company that upcycles toxic wastes into new products stream using dead cells fermentation (“Zombie cells”) approach and unique hydrogenation technique. One of our products is bio-adipic acid (precursor of Nylon 6,6).

2S Water

2S Water is protecting the world’s water with real time data using single and multi-element sensors.

Pressure Corp

Pressure Corp is a development company that transforms industrial waste pressure into clean energy with zero capital required from host facilities.

Sawback Technologies Inc.

Sawback Technologies is a near-sensing company that has developed a proprietary solution to remotely collect, visualize and analyze near-surface data to identify underground utilities, fluid leaks, soil layers, and infrastructure health.

Pani Energy

Pani Energy provides a cloud-based software service to optimize the operations of water treatment plants and reduce chemical costs and energy use, extend membrane life and reduce plant downtime.

BluumBio

BluumBio provides bio-based technologies that rapidly clean soil, air, and water.

Carbon Asset Solutions

Carbon Asset Solutions is a technology platform that operates in the Carbon Credit and sustainable investment sectors. It supplies precision soil-based Carbon Credits to global markets faster and more cost-effectively than any other method.

Cnergreen

Cnergreen is an enhanced oil recovery and CO2 storage efficiency via resilient nanoparticle-based foam technology.
