Reaching Net-Zero carbon emissions can feel like a problem too massive or too far into the future to solve. Despite understanding the issues well, there is no blueprint for an unprecedented situation.

Every year we emit 51 billion tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere from the food we eat, to what we make, to how we move around. We have to get from 51 billion to zero in just under 30 years to avoid climate disaster. One thing has become clear, reaching net-zero by 2050 will require an unprecedented scale of action and collaboration across all levels of society.

We have made significant strides in areas like renewable energy and electric vehicles. Now, the attention is shifting to the hard-to-abate sectors like heavy industry, agriculture, long-haul transport, electricity, and buildings. While there’s no one-size-fits-all solution in these sectors, we know we have to speed up the cycle of innovation and we need to begin acting now.
