(BAT), the world's second largest tobacco manufacturer, was founded in 1902 and is present in more than 180 countries and regions worldwide, controlling the tobacco market in more than 50 countries and regions. With 81 tobacco factories in 64 countries and 9 cigar and hand-rolled tobacco processing plants in 7 countries, BAT processes 660 million kilograms of tobacco annually, produces more than 850 billion cigarettes (more than 16 million containers), and employs more than 90,000 people worldwide (including subsidiaries and holding companies).
