Load Balancing

Our Redundant Cisco ACE Application Control Engine Module for Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switches is a next-generation load-balancing and application-delivery solution. A member of the Cisco family of Data Center 3.0 solutions, the module:

• Helps ensure business continuity by increasing application availability

• Reduces data center power, space, and cooling needs through a virtualized architecture
• Helps lower operational costs associated with application provisioning and scaling

It achieves these goals through intelligent load-balancing and content-switching technologies integrated with acceleration and security capabilities. A virtualized architecture help you provision and deliver multiple applications to increase data center scalability.

To increase application availability, the module uses best-in-class application-switching algorithms and highly available system software and hardware.

Flexible application traffic management, and offloading of CPU-intensive tasks such as SSL encryption and decryption processing and TCP session management, improve server efficiency.

Security

Our redundant Cisco Firewall Module offers additional layer of security for your dedicated servers and has the following features:

• Security - Cisco firewalls provide the latest in security technology ranging from stateful inspection firewalls to content filtering capabilities that help protect your network environment from future attacks. Another security feature is the adaptive security algorithm (ASA), which maintains the firewalled areas between the networks controlled by the firewall.
  
  The stateful, connection-oriented ASA creates session flows based on source and destination addresses, TCP sequence numbers (which are nonpredictable), port numbers, and additional TCP flags. You can control all inbound and outbound traffic by applying security policies to each connection table entry.
• Performance - With support for up to 6 gigabits of throughput, firewalls can provide protection in the most demanding network environments.
• Reliability - Cisco firewalls provide adaptable security services for operation-critical network environments by using the integrated stateful failover capabilities within the Firewall Services Module. Network traffic can be automatically sent to a hot-standby module in the event of a failure, while maintaining concurrent connections with automated state synchronization between the primary module and the standby module.
• Network Address Translation (NAT) and Port Address Translation (PAT) - Cisco firewalls provide NAT and PAT services that conceal IP addresses of internal networks and expand network address space for internal networks.
• Denial-of-service (DoS) attack prevention - Cisco firewalls protect the firewall and networks behind them from attempts to gain access, which can bring a network to a halt.

This service is fully managed by our technicians. Starting at $50/month per server, we configure to your specifications and updates / changes are all included at no additional charge.

Storage

Network Storage
Our network storage servers are redundant RAID array servers available on a private network within our data center, not publicly available to the Internet. As part of our managed backup data storage solution, you can get minimum of 100 GB of network storage for backups and data storage external to your dedicated servers.

Storage Area Network
Our Storage Area Network (SAN) services can be used as a second hard drive for your dedicated server or for high-performance storage. Your dedicated server is connected to the SAN via a private optical fiber network for maximum security and network performance.

Managed Backup
For a fully-managed backup solution, our Managed Backup product combines a Network Storage account with a customized backup data storage plan and automated Legato Backup Software. Working with our professional services staff, you can determine what files are backed up and on what schedule, how often archives are rotated, and more.
