Plug and Play's objectives with Universities are:
- Exposing students and academia to technology entrepreneurship in Silicon Valley
- Fostering the entrepreneurship spirit of the University's students and academia
- Helping student's association organizing successful business plan competitions
- Increasing the chances of success of the start-ups founded by the students
Plug and Play can organize Tech Treks with 10 university start-ups within its facility. It is a one day program during which start-ups are getting exposed to and are learning about Silicon Valley technology entrepreneurship, meet and brainstorm with other Silicon Valley entrepreneurs.
Plug and Play sponsors business plan competitions at the top Universities in the US and Internationally. Business plans competition can be led by academia or student associations of the University. Plug and Play usually gets involved by providing the winner 3 months of free office space and mentorship in its Sunnyvale facility.
We welcome students from our partner international universities as interns within our facility for the duration of one to three months for either Plug and Play projects or as part of start-ups housed at Plug and Play; so that they could discover what it is like to work with a Silicon Valley start-up!
Under-graduate or graduate students (MBAs and PHds) are welcome for 3-6 months (maximum of 5 students/international University). All of the interns we have hosted so far have had an exciting learning experience; they came back to their country with a drive, open mind and a new vision for entrepreneurship.
Plug and Play is happy to host on average two university delegations per month. These Universities are national or international, from the engineering and the business departments, they are students or academia.
Sometimes students do not dream big enough, Plug and Play wants to make them dream bigger. We believe in fostering the entrepreneurship spirit in students as early as under-graduate level. We hope to do so by hosting them at Plug and Play for a couple of hours, telling them about entrepreneurship and having them meet with some of the hottest entrepreneurs of our community.
