Fraunhofer ISE and FOKUS

Fraunhofer ISE is the largest solar research institute in Europe, founded in Freiburg (Germany). The Institute creates the technological foundations for supplying energy efficiently and on an environmentally sound basis in industrialized, threshold and developing countries. Its aspiration is to develop concretely implementable, technical solutions which they make available to our industrial partners. Their research ranges from materials research through component development to systems integration. Fraunhofer ISE benefits from its excellent technical infrastructure.

Fraunhofer FOKUS has been driving digital transformation through research for commercial enterprises and public administrations since 1988. Their services include requirements analysis, feasibility studies, consultations, and technology development. These services are available across a variety of sectors, including Digital Public Services, Future Applications and Media, Quality Engineering, Smart Mobility, Software-Based Networks, Network Security, and Visual Computing and Analytics. Fraunhofer FOKUS is one of the largest ICT institutions within the Fraunhofer society with 460 employees based in Berlin and an annual budget of €32.9m.
