Plug and Play Tech Center is organizing its inaugural annual "Best Practices" seminar and workshop for universities, technology/start-up Incubators and government and funding agencies around the world this fall on Monday, 20 Oct 2008 at Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale, CA.

At this workshop, we will share best practices in incubation of high-technology start-ups and acceleration of their business through active mentoring and how we have helped over 160 companies secure seed and venture funding in excess of US$600 million since we started in 2006.
- Fostering a Culture of Innovation and Spirit of Entrepreneurship in Universities
- We will discuss the ingredients and steps required to build an entrepreneurial eco-system – faculty champions that research and teach entrepreneurship courses, grassroots student entrepreneurship organizations, business plan competitions, etc.
- Challenges facing young start-ups and entrepreneurs
- We will discuss through case studies and actual accounts from young entrepreneurs the challenges that young start-ups with good ideas face and how universities, incubators and other agencies can and should help start-ups.
- Best practices for Start-up Incubators and Technology Centers
- We will share and discuss best practices in technology incubation and ways to increase the success rates of start-ups.
- Bridging the Funding Gap
- We will discuss government/ public agencies funding, grants, other private early stage financing (Bootstrap, Friends & Family, Angels) and their importance to the success of start-ups
